About the client
Tate Multimedia S.A. is an independent video game developer and publisher operating under a "house of ideas" model, where any idea can make it into the final game. The company prioritizes creativity, player surprise, and high-quality production. Tate Multimedia titles—such as Urban Trial Playground and Steel Rats—are distributed across Europe, North America, Japan, and China, and the studio collaborates regularly with industry giants such as Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo.
The Tate Multimedia team sought support in implementing and integrating player achievement systems—such as leaderboards, Xbox Achievements, and PlayStation Trophies—for PS4 and Xbox One platforms. A key goal was to tie these features into gameplay mechanics and player progress tracking, while adhering to the technical and certification requirements of each platform.

Thanks to physical access to the development kits and support from the internal team, we were able to quickly implement the console SDK and existing game structures. We implemented achievement systems for Xbox and PS4, adapting them to Unreal Engine logic and internal gameplay mechanics. We worked in C++ and using Blueprints, which enabled iterative testing and easy debugging. We co-created tools that facilitated testing and integration of achievements with other gameplay elements.
Thanks to this collaboration:
- The studio gained a fully functional achievement system, ready for certification.
- Players received an additional level of motivation and immersion in the form of platform-specific rewards.
- Work on subsequent titles provided a solid foundation for further development of multiplatform solutions.
