Case study > Banking & Financial Services > Payment System Integration with an External Service for Fiserv

Edge One Solutions supported Fiserv in integrating a payment system with an external service for active transaction operations and in developing precise user-access management.
The solution enabled refunds, chargebacks and transaction voids while limiting access to authorised users and merchant accounts.
Fiserv, an international e-commerce solutions provider, processes a high volume of payment transactions and operations such as refunds, chargebacks and transaction voids. The organisation needed to extend its system to make access to transaction-management tools easier to control for selected user groups.
The key challenge was to integrate the existing payment system with an external service responsible for active transaction operations. At the same time, access to these capabilities had to be limited to the appropriate users only.
The project required precise permission management and accurate transaction-data mapping between the external service and individual merchant stores, so that each operation would be executed against the correct accounts and entities.

The Edge One Solutions team delivered an integration with an external payment service, enabling chargebacks, payment refunds and transaction voids within the existing ecosystem.
The scope included a user-permission verification mechanism based on access to specific account types. The solution enables store owners to dynamically grant and revoke access to the service for individual user accounts.
The work also covered designing transaction-data mapping between the IPG service and individual store data, then incorporating this mapping into the integration contract with the Merchant Portal.

The team delivered an access-control mechanism based on database flags. It provides flexible permission management and restricts access to active operations according to assigned roles and accounts.
Integration with the external service enabled secure handling of payment operations, while accurate data mapping ensured that transactions were assigned to the correct merchant stores.
Built with Java, Spring, REST API, SQL and Hibernate, the solution extended the payment system’s capabilities, strengthened control over access to transaction tools and supported efficient operational processing.
