About the client
Orange is one of the largest telecommunications companies in Europe, offering a wide range of services, such as mobile telephony, fixed and mobile internet, television and business solutions. The company operates in over 26 countries, serving millions of individual and corporate customers. Orange is known for its innovative approach, investment in modern technologies, such as 5G, and cloud solutions supporting the digital transformation of enterprises.
The client had to migrate part of the system to Google Cloud Platform, starting with a competition application for sellers. The challenge was to migrate the application based on Spring and React from virtual machines to Kubernetes and prepare the infrastructure in the cloud in the "infrastructure as code" model using managed Google Cloud services (Kubernetes Engine, Cloud SQL, Cloud Load Balancing). Additionally, it was necessary to create a pipeline that automates building and deploying new versions of the application after changes in the code.
- Cloud Migration: The team migrated the vendor competition app to Google Cloud Platform, migrating the backend (Spring) and frontend (React) from VMs to Kubernetes.
- Infrastructure as Code: By adopting an Infrastructure as Code model, the team automated and scaled the infrastructure using managed Google Cloud services such as Kubernetes Engine, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Load Balancing.
- CI/CD Flow: A CI/CD flow was created to automate testing, building, and deploying app updates, allowing for smooth releases.
