  • Challenge

Bank Pekao aimed to provide business customers with access to lending products without the need to visit a branch. The goal was to create a fully digital end-to-end lending process that would guide customers from financing simulations to contract signing — entirely remotely.

The key challenge was connecting the front-end application with a complex back-end architecture and sophisticated business process logic. The solution needed to deliver a seamless customer experience while supporting system integrations, data flows and the successive stages of the lending process.

Another important requirement was to design a process that would enable the Bank's teams to monitor, manage and optimise workflows while maintaining full control over critical stages of the lending process.

  • Scope of work

The Edge One Solutions team contributed to the development of an online lending process for business customers, covering the front-end, back-end and integration with tools supporting business process management.

The back-end was built using Java and a Domain-Driven Design architecture. Kafka was used for event processing, while Swagger and OpenAPI supported API documentation. IBM BPM was responsible for managing complex lending workflows in real time.

The front-end was developed using Angular and an event-driven approach. The team extended the internal component library and adapted it to the solution's requirements, ensuring a consistent customer experience throughout the lending process.

  • Solution

The result was an online lending process that enables business customers to complete each stage of financing without visiting a branch. The solution connects the digital application with the back-end, the Bank's systems and business process management tools.

The event-driven architecture and integration with IBM BPM enabled workflow automation and real-time process management. The Bank gained greater control over individual process stages, including their monitoring and continuous optimisation.

The result is a more accessible and convenient lending process for businesses, along with a technological foundation that supports the development of digital financial products and more efficient operations.
