About the client
Nowa Era is a leading Polish educational publishing house specializing in creating textbooks and teaching materials for students and teachers at various levels of education. The company offers a wide range of publications that support the educational process, adapting to changing educational needs.
The team’s transition to reactive programming was challenging due to its complexity and niche nature. The project used the Vert.x framework, which, being less popular and more specialized than common solutions such as Spring, made implementation and development difficult. Additionally, the project, initially developed by Belgian teams, was transferred to the team in Poland, which involved challenges in knowledge transfer and maintaining consistency. At the same time, significant technical debt in automated testing had to be dealt with to increase software reliability and speed up the implementation process.
Bingel Platform: Bingel is a learning platform for students and teachers with game elements that supports students' individual learning paths and promotes inclusivity through the ability to customize avatars that reflect the diversity of society. Students can create their avatars by choosing characteristics such as gender, skin color, hairstyle, clothing and accessories, allowing them to express themselves.
