Client: Respect EnergySector: energy and renewablesModel:IT outsourcingArea: SaaS / renewable energy / web application / scalability

Edge One Solutions supported Respect Energy by providing IT specialists responsible for developing the Repoweric platform — a SaaS web application designed to support the operation, monitoring and management of photovoltaic farms, wind farms and energy storage systems.

The scope of support included application code development, infrastructure support, and preparing the solution to meet security, stability and future scalability requirements.

Tools and technologies used

  • GitHub
  • InfluxDB
  • Kubernetes
  • Docker
  • ArgoCD
  • Challenge

Respect Energy was developing Repoweric - a modern SaaS web application designed to support the operation, monitoring, and management of photovoltaic farms, wind farms, and energy storage facilities. The platform was intended to help external customers manage renewable energy installations more effectively.

The key challenge was to develop both the application and its infrastructure in a way that ensured stability, security, and readiness for further expansion. The platform had to operate in an environment where reliability, data accuracy, and integration with various systems used in the energy sector were critical.

The project also required compliance with strict standards and guidelines set by Polish Power Grid operators. Meeting these requirements was important for ensuring cooperation with the energy infrastructure ecosystem and maintaining a high level of platform security and stability.

  • Scope of work by Edge One Solutions

Edge One Solutions supported the development of the Repoweric platform in areas related to the application, infrastructure, and preparation of the solution for further scaling. The work included developing application code in line with project assumptions and supporting the infrastructure required for the SaaS platform to operate effectively.

    The scope of work included:

    • development of the SaaS web application,
    • support for the platform infrastructure,
    • work with containerization and the Kubernetes environment,
    • support for deployment processes,
    • development of the solution with system integrations in mind,
    • focus on platform stability and security,
    • preparation of an architecture ready for further functional expansion,
    • cooperation on meeting requirements specific to the energy sector.

  • Delivered solution

The cooperation supported the development of Repoweric as a modern SaaS web application for owners and operators of photovoltaic farms, wind farms, and energy storage facilities. The platform was designed to support comprehensive renewable energy infrastructure management and enable further functional development.

The project used an approach based on cloud infrastructure, containerization, and deployment automation. Azure supported the cloud environment, Docker and Kubernetes enabled application service management, and ArgoCD supported deployment processes. This approach helped maintain environment consistency, scale the solution, and control changes in the application.

A key part of the solution was also the platform’s readiness for integration with various systems. In the energy sector, this is particularly important because platforms managing renewable energy infrastructure need to communicate with multiple data sources, monitoring systems, operational tools, and external regulatory or market requirements.
