  • Challenge

The launch of Allegro.cz required adapting both the business and technical layers of the platform to the needs of a new market.

The key challenge was an in-depth analysis and optimization of the existing system architecture, as well as effective connection of different services and management of their dependencies in a distributed environment.

The project also required coordination across multiple teams to maintain smooth platform operation and ensure consistency of changes across logistics, payments, advertising, translations, offers, and settlements.

As part of the project, existing Allegro mechanisms were adapted to the requirements of the Czech market and the needs of international expansion.

The changes covered areas such as logistics and new delivery parameters, free delivery promotion rules within Smart, multi-currency support in payments and settlements, and market-specific differences in advertising.

Translation mechanisms were also developed to support offer localization, along with solutions for verifying product compliance with regulations applicable in a given market.

  • Project significance for e-commerce and international expansion

Expanding a marketplace platform to a new market requires much more than translating the interface or launching a new domain.

The Allegro.cz project shows that successful market entry requires adapting logistics, payments, advertising, settlements, offer localization, and the integration of many interdependent services.

For e-commerce companies, similar projects can support international business scaling, improve operational consistency, and reduce technical risks related to platform development in new markets.
