About the client
Fiserv is a global leader in financial technology that delivers innovative solutions to financial institutions, retailers and other organizations worldwide. The company specializes in payment services, risk management and customized transaction solutions.
The project required integration with an external service Ecom, which handles processes related to active operations such as transaction chargebacks, payment refunds and transaction invalidations. An additional challenge was to develop a mechanism that would allow these functionalities to be made available only to a selected group of users, while ensuring a high level of security and compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
The team implemented a mechanism to verify user authorizations, based on access assigned to appropriate account types. However, since these assignments were incorrect, an additional functionality was developed that allowed the main store owner to enable and disable access to the service for individual accounts. This mechanism was based on flags in the database.
In order for the process to run correctly and use the correct transaction data, a mapping of transaction data from the IPG service (Transactions) with outlet (store) data was introduced. This mapping was used in the contract between Merchant Portal and the Ecom system, which enabled the implementation of payment operations.
